Romanko Sales &
Service, Inc.
was founded in 1954
by Lorne W. Romanko, Chief Executive Officer. In the early 1970's,
L. W. Romanko added pre-engineered buildings to his already diverse
business ventures. Romanko’s began acting as subcontractors to
General Contractors supplying pre-engineered buildings and erection.
Through the 70's trades where added, to include foundations and
floors, overhead cranes, and other structural components related to
pre-engineered construction. By the early 80's Romanko’s had
developed to include "Turn Key" project capabilities for its
clients. Today, less than 5% of Romanko’s work is in subcontracting
Steel and Erection to other GC’s. At present, Romanko’s offers
complete construction management and design service to all of it
clients.

In 1996, Romanko Sales & Service, Inc. was listed in the top 150
pre-engineered building specialists in the United States, Mexico and
Canada. This list includes Builders of all Pre-Engineered Buildings
supplied by all manufacturers published in the May 96 issue of
"Metal Construction News."
American Buildings Company
in Eufaula Alabama, which is
the second leading supplier of pre-engineered buildings to the North
American Continent and abroad, lists
Romanko Sales & Service, Inc.
among their top 20 builders. In the North Central Region of the
United States, Romanko’s are listed in the top 10. In March of 1996,
Romanko’s was presented with "The President’s Award" for outstanding
achievements in Business Ethics and Management. L. W. Romanko now
serves on the President’s Advisory Board for the American Buildings
Company and is a "Golden Eagle Dealer".
Our projects are primarily related to the Tool & Die Industries, but
also include Heavy Industrial, Light Manufacturing, Commercial and
Warehousing. The largest single manufacturing project included
30,000 square feet of finished office space with 190,000 square feet
of light manufacturing. The largest single warehousing project in
excess of 270,000 square feet. Crane Building have been constructed
with 50 and 60 ton crane systems and machine bases of all sizes and
complexities. On past projects, tilt-up wall systems as well as
refrigeration and freezer buildings in conjunction with
pre-engineered frames have been implemented.
Romanko’s operates on the premise that their reputation is only as
good as their last project, and prefers to stay small in size and
selective in the work that they take on. Most projects are on a
referral basis, with a large base of repeat clientele.

is Owned and Operated by the Romanko Family. Chief Executive Officer
Lorne Romanko, Secretary Treasurer Betty Romanko, President Mark
Romanko, Vice President Joel Romanko. Lorne is primarily in Sales
and Management with Mark, Joel and James acting as Project
Superintendents. Mark covers the pre-engineered erection and Joel
manages the on site subcontractors. James Romanko installs
foundations and brings the projects out of the ground. Kevin Romanko
assists with sales and is responsible for Design Coordination,
Estimating, Contracting and Project Management.
Kevin Romanko attended Heidelberg College and the University of
North Florida and has an extensive background in math and physics.
Studies at the University of North Florida included Construction
Management, Contract Law and other construction related studies. He
has been a State Certified Building Contractor since 1986,
CBC037987, licensed in the State of Florida and governed by the
Department of Professional Regulation. Certified Building
Contractors have yearly continuing education requirements in order
to maintain their licensing, of which Romanko is current.

contracts with various outside Architects and Engineers for its
project certifications depending on project requirements. The
initial proposal drawings and specifications are generated in-house
for client presentation and contract negotiations. Final drawings
for construction and permits are contracted outside to individual
Architects and Engineers who finalize the design and current code
requirements.
Romanko’s employs subcontractors who have shown both quality and
professionalism in their respective trades from union and open shop
companies. The Romanko office is located in Sycamore, Ohio where the
Company originates. From this location they are central to the
Toledo /Detroit area, Cleveland, Mansfield, Columbus and the Dayton
/ Cincinnati area. Romanko’s has built projects as far south as
Jacksonville, Florida and as far east as Fall River, Massachusetts.
The office staff uses AutoCAD for their CAD operations and software
from Primavera and Timberline for Estimating and Project Management.

are priced with preliminary design in
house with software provided by American Buildings Company.
In 1997, The Romanko Family added an additional venture,
Romanko Development Company, LTD.
for the purpose of providing land and "Build to Suit" projects for
those who desire lease options. Romanko Development Company is
currently developing "Argyle Forest Subdivision" consisting of 66
single family home sites.
